After the tragic death of beloved wife Mary (Deborah Messing), a journalist from the Washington Post John Klein (Richard Gere) is located a block full of odd drawings, variations of the same revelation. And recalls her last words: "You haven't seen it?" For a time he wanders into the small village of Point Pleasant, where he meets with a young sergeant Connie Parker (Laura Linney - The exorcism [2005]), which tells him that the whole region is upside down as a result of the recent strange phenomena. Soon he realizes that the extraordinary phenomena could be related not only to each other, but also with strange drawings, which Mary feverishly painted a few hours before his death. But what exactly is the link? Phenomena contradict the simple explanation and there are more and more worrying, as would be anticipated the inevitable disaster. John starts with the devil race with time to figure out what's going on and prevent something terrible from happening. The movie is filmed according to the book of John And. Keel's "The Mothman Prophecies", which was created on the basis of the actual events.
