Dead teenager on the ground, a devious friend dangerously close, inevitable abortion, and homicidal maniac on the phone – this is definitely not a merry Christmas. At least for a group of girls that have decided to spend the holidays in a dorm in a forgotten gem of canadian cinema Black Christmas (1974). A long time ago before Halloween (1978) there was director Bob Clark and his pioneering teen slasher thriller – an exceptionally skilled linking of a first-class horror film, suspense and social criticism. Black Christmas should resurrect the stagnant canadian production and has become a cult film for the young generation ala "easy rider" (1969). In both prevent them from bad timing and crappy marketing. The image at the time of its premiere commercially failed, and gradually become one of the best kept secrets of the golden age of american horror. However, today he is slowly getting the attention as the first ever and probably the most intelligent teen shasher rightfully deserves.
Budget: $680,000
