Jonathan (Bruno Ganz) and Lucy (Isabelle Adjani - Obsession [1981]) live in Wismar and the count Dracula (Klaus Kinski - Count Dracula [1970]) has expressed interest in buying a house in their locality. Jonathan then goes to his castle, but the interest of the earl was more focused on his partner Lucy, who gave him a cause of interest in the house near her. Dracula's arrival in Wismar carries and negative effects of his karma - death and the plague.
