The four men going over the weekend to canoe a stretch of wild river in the appalachians, which is to be soon flooded with water from a new dam. The romantic road is, however, unexpectedly transformed into a tragedy that will forever scar those who survive. Men want to prove that despite the urban way of life can conquer nature. But part of the local nature are also hillmen, who have been living in harsh conditions and who profess other values. Encounters with them are changing in a fight for survival. The image of Deliverance John Boorman (the Exorcist 2 [1977]) include not only the most important titles 70. years, but also highlights the genre of horror thriller. To this day inspires filmmaking purity, poutavostí going on, but also the moral dimension. Comes out of the usual thrillerového scheme of the fight against "neviděnému" the enemy, while it goes beyond the mere thrilling spectacle. In the intimate drama of the play of course the role of the natural shots, the more substantial it is, however, Boormanova the ability to subtly create an atmosphere of tension and danger, changing places in sheer terror. No less important are the performances of the main representatives. The famous (and breathtaking) is the initial scene with evergreenovou song Duelling Banjos by Eric Weissberga.
