Deathwatch

In the midst of war, soldiers dream about becoming heroes. Praying to remember what it's like to be a man. 1917. On the western front. A muddy wasteland with barbed wire and trenches. The earth is soaked with the blood of the fallen and the air is filled with the sultry smell of death. Private Charlie Shakespeare (Jamie Bell) has a fever. He looks at his exhausted friends, and the body that remained after the battle, lying there lifeless. Is alone. So desperately wanted gone. With the few men who survived, taking refuge in a German trench. In the underground tunnels, lost in enemy territory, waiting to be rescued. But no one comes and the night with hopelessness descends on the landscape.
