Gamera: The Giant Monster

From out of the arctic comes a gigantic flying, fire-breathing turtle that sets its sights on destroying Tokyo.

Gamera the Giant Monster (Daikaijū Gamera, lit. Giant Monster Gamera, also known as The Giant Monster Gamera) is a 1965 Japanese kaiju film directed by Noriaki Yuasa and starring Eiji Funakoshi, Harumi Kiritachi, and Junichiro Yamashita. It is the first entry in the Gamera film series, and was the only film in the original series released theatrically in the United States.

An edited version of the film was released theatrically in the United States on December 15, 1966 as Gammera the Invincible.
