The Virgin Spring

The central scene of the film is a cruel scene of the rape and killing of a yeoman's daughter, Karin (Birgitta Pettersson) crazy herders in the mountains. Her deeply religious father finds himself in the face of biblical dogmas that preach not to kill. Immeasurable pain of losing a daughter and an unquenchable desire for revenge lead the father to the crime scene. The Film is inspired by an old nordic legend. In directing and kameramansky masterpiece sharply contrasts with the brutal act of pastoral tuned the mood of the forest in the spring.
