In the course of 70. years with american horror films slowly but surely for a while submit to the social phenomenon of serial killers. Two flagship films of the approaching wave of splatter films (where the blood is more sprayed than flows) are affected by this development, are already us given snapshot of the hills have eyes (1977, r. Wes Craven – presented at the III. year) and Eaten alive. The second film Tobe Hooper tells the sweet story of a young prostitute who refuses to have anal intercourse with the customer and must escape from her brothel workplace. It would turn into a tourist-attractive flaking Starlight inn. That is from one side flanked by the private zoo and from the other side of stinking swamp, where he lives a huge crocodile sea (crocodilus porosus). The hotel owner is a psychopath, which does not far from words to deeds. And so the prodigal prostitute horribly murdered. This is but only the first victims of the horrific night... Director Tobe Hooper made his debut successful movie Texas chainsaw massacre (1974 – cited on II. edition of our festival). So has been included under the heading of horror directors. Producer Mardi Rustam him to do a task: to make as successful a film as Jaws from Steven Spielbarga. And so the choice fell on a crocodile and a similar narrative scheme. Hooper invited some former co-workers as screenwriter Kim Henkel or roaring martyr Marilyn Burns from Texas chainsaw massacre. And this time the plot takes place in a Texas – hot country suffering from racism and insanity. Noteworthy is one of the first major roles of Robert Englunda - in a few years will become the dreaded Freddy Krueger, but here he plays a local playboy Buck. The Film is known in the United states under a variety of alternative names such as Horror Hotel, Starlight Slaughter, or Legend of the Bayou.
