28 Days Later..

A group of activists fighting for the rights of animals, breaks into the lab, where scientists have been studying monkeys infected with rabies. Guardians releases the monkey outside cages was immediately bitten and infected.

Courier Jim (Cillian Murphy - Red Eye [2005], Red Lights [2012]) awakens from a coma in the hospital and discovers that the building sits empty. Horrified and lonely young man leaves the hospital to discover all the horror around. London was totally depopulated. Then Jim meets Selena (Naomie Harris) and Mark (Noah Huntley - Dark Floors [2008]). Virus destroyed almost the entire city. Selena knows that even Mark is infected with a deadly virus, against which no defense, and the survival instinct say to kill him. The small expedition is added Frank and his daughter Hannah. Drinking water supplies are running out. The group is looking for a way out. After hearing the news about the weather get information about the military unit somewhere outside the city. It could be a salvation. But depressed survivors know where they lurk for an even greater threat.

Director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Beach) passes viewers a brutal film through an apocalyptic vision of a deserted London, and people have become in the face of deadly virus and cynics lose their emotions. It is also a harsh message about how destructive can be the loss of natural humanity.
